AutoTweet an RSS Feed

When you’re trying to run you’re own business, there’s several different aspects to being successful. Between running your website, trying to run your business, and trying to promote yourself, you have to make your time stretch. Anytime that you can automate something and you can save hours of time, it is to your benefit. Promoting yourself with social media is a great way to drive traffic, but it is very time-consuming. What if you could automate the process? There is actually a way to do this with HootSuite and RSS feeds. In today’s video, I’m going to show you how to autotweet an RSS feed with HootSuite.

Using HootSuite for social media is a must. There’s so many ways that HootSuite saves you time, such as being able to schedule posts ahead of time. But another way that you can save time, is to autotweet an RSS feed. This means that every time you create a new post on your website, your RSS feed updates, and HootSuite will automatically tweet that post using your RSS feed. This means that you do not even have to log in for a tweet to be posted. The only real downside to this is you are not able to set up custom hashtags or anything like that. However if you just want to send out a promotional tweet every time you have a new post, automating the process will save you a lot of time.

You will need to find your RSS feed link in your website. This is easy to find, and all you need to do is just copy this link. Next, you want to go into HootSuite and go to the settings tab on the left side. Choose RSS/Atoms and hit the + to add a new RSS feed. A window will pop up, where you will paste your RSS feeds URL. Then you will want to select the network that you want to post your feed items to. You can choose from Twitter Google plus or Facebook. You can only choose one social media account at a time for this service. If you want to promote your posts to each of the social media outlets, you will have to set them up individually.

Were you able to successfully auto tweet an RSS feed? This is a fairly simple process that you can set up in a matter of minutes. Being able to automate your social media process can save you a lot of time so you can focus on other areas of your business.
