This theme has a lot of nice features, and is a great opportunity for your content to shine. Your articles would look great using this theme. It may take some work to adapt it for businesses, though. However, if you are looking for a great responsive theme for your personal blog, Eighties is a great choice.
Eighties Free WordPress Theme of the Week
Finding quality WordPress themes can be difficult. Seems like everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon of creating custom WordPress themes. However, it’s time I got back to my regularly scheduled posts, featuring great free WordPress themes. This week I’m featuring the Eighties free WordPress theme. It is a unique theme that is slick and has a lot of nice features. Your content will really shine if you use the Eighties free WordPress theme. Take a look at the screenshots below.
I was a little off put by the two hamburger icons at the top corners of the site. However, this adds a lot of great possibilities for different options. When you click the left hamburger icon, a full browser menu opens up. This looks really nice and calls a lot of attention to your menu items. I like how sub menu items are indented, and the search bar and social media icons at the bottom are a nice touch. Under the right hamburger icon, you can place some information that you want to really stand out. In the demo, they talk about awesome plug-ins and things that you can use. This would be great if you had featured products that you wanted to bring extra attention to.
The portfolio section is really nice, too. I like how the images are dimmed with text over top of them. When you hover over them, the images are shown full color. This really makes your images stand out and seemingly jump off the page.
What’s really cool about this theme is the header. You can choose to upload a custom header, or if the page happens to be a blog post, you can use the featured image in the header. You have a lot of options to choose from as well, such as custom colors and many other things that you would expect to find in a great WordPress theme.
